宮崎ハロー英会話のミニレッスン 60: A Murmuration of Swallows
This is a cool video I found taken by two girls in Canada. It’s a “murmuration of swallows. In Japanese ‘swallow’ is 燕 (つばめ) and a group of swallows is called a ‘murmuration’. There are many collection nouns (集合名詞) in English, for example a “group of people”. Here are some more:
A flock of birds (but swallows are special-only they are a murmuration).
A herd of cows, sheep, horses.
A school of fish.
A pod of dolphins, whales.
A swarm of bees.
A pack of dogs.
